Becky invited me to tag on a few extra days to our trip to Walt Disney World to visit Universal Orlando Resort.
While I’ve visited Walt Disney World regularly over the years, it had been 15 years since I visited Universal Orlando Resort and I’ve been desperate to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, so of course I said yes!
Universal had invited us to stay in their brand new resort – Loews Sapphire Falls – you can read more about it here. It’s very close to the parks and CityWalk so is perfect if you’re only staying a couple a few nights as we were.
We visited during Halloween season and were invited to go on a VIP Halloween Horror Nights Tour. I had previously visited Port Aventura during their Halloween celebrations and witnessed the parade as well as Hotel Burn (from a distance!). I had gotten myself a bit of a reputation as someone that was easily scared, so the prospect of enduring NINE seriously haunted house experiences was, at best, terrifying!
I’m proud to say that at no point did I cry OR soil myself, an achievement I am very proud of. The most frightening of them all was The Texas Chainsaw Massacre as even after leaving the house, there were actors still jumping out and revving their chainsaws!
A long but fun night, so glad I got to experience it.
After a surprisingly peaceful night sleep, with not one nightmare featuring a chainsaw, we were treated to a VIP Guide to take us around Universal. This is something that all guests can book if they choose.
We spent the afternoon on our own exploring The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, it was everything I had hoped for, and so much more. It really exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend you visit if you have any Harry Potter fans.
After a long day at the parks we enjoyed drinks at Hard Rock Cafe, so eye catching in the sun!
Before dinner at the brand new Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savoury Feast Kitchen. This was a real treat, and not as expensive as you might think – worth a visit – it’s an ideal place to eat with the whole family.
After a couple of very busy days, we returned to the hotel pool to relax with a cocktail before heading home.
Thanks to Becky for inviting me, you can find out more about Universal Orlando Resort here.
